To the sea...

Being by the sea with nothing to distract me but a good book and litres of watermelon juice has made me pensive...

The sea always sparks something elemental, some ancient feeling in me; I want nothing more than to be one with the water, hands pushed deep into the sand, and the sun slowly lightening my hair and darkening my skin. I honestly feel that I am where I'm supposed to be when I am in the ocean.

Perhaps it is the humbling size of the thing that forces me in to such an awed state. I imagine astronauts to have similar feelings. But the sea is different, you can look upon space and feel separate from it, insignificant in its vastness, look upon the ocean and you feel part of this giant body of water, you immediately feel it's pull, you run in fact to meet its waves as they beckon you in to join them. You can't help but feel significant in the oceans fold.
